This is a free video from John Reese, about 15min of hard hitting information. Basically, John doesn’t advocate building multiple streams of income, but instead he says you should build a single, strong business - and then spend all your time finding new leads, new products, etc. for that one business.

It’s certainly one approach that may work for you, especially if you’re starting out.

The (Simple) Formula For Reseller Success is:

Profit = (Hits x Conversion Rate) x (SalesPrice-Salescosts) - costs

So.. to make more you must increase your sales price, increase your conversion rate, increase your hits, or lower your costs. Costs can almost be ignored for virtual products, unless you want to include the upfront purchase you make yourself. Salescosts (I didn’t know what else to call it) may be, for example, PayPal fees charged per transaction, or the amount of the salesprice you pay to affiliates - or both.

It’s a straightforward formula. Note your conversion rate is a decimal, so - if for example 1 in every 100 visitors buy your product it would be 0.01. As another example here it is progress:

Sales Price is a $27 ebook. The conversion rate is 1 in 50 (0.02) and you’re getting 600 hits to that page from an e-mail you sent out. No costs to send this e-book. We’ll ignore hosting, autoresponders etc because they’re more general costs for everything you do.

Profit = (2000 x 0.02) x ($27) which is 40 sales totalling $1080

If you were to play with the numbers you might find that selling it for less would mean more sales. Or selling it for more would be less sales, but more profit. Or even tweaking the webpage (for example, including a signup box to follow up the visitor via autoresponder would mean the conversion rate changes to 0.04, which would double the sales). That’s how powerful small changes can be.

Sorry for the math but It makes a lot of sense. It’s always useful to see it written down like that. Think it over!
