Going For The Big Niche

There are many theories and methods for making money online. You can build an informative website, and chase the revenue from ads and affiliate sales. You can create a product and sell that yourself and via affiliates. You can chase small niches and aim to “dominate” them.

Or you could simply forget all that and jump right into the shark infested waters of diet pills, credit cards, health products, sex aids and the rest. The kind that you see in your spam everyday. But more importantly, the kind of niche where there are literally millions of buyers.

Yes – the competition is fierce, but the payouts can be immense. You don’t need to compete head on, just build a healthy SEO friendly site and do all you can to add content and get backlinks.

An easy way to do this is to build a simple Wordpress Blog. Get rid of the dates and times in the URLs and posts, so they don’t look like posts, and start adding content that is mainly reviews and tips. Be blatant with the ads and affiliate links – ensure they are prominent – and work at it.

This works, especially if you can build a strong list of keywords and get the long-tail traffic. A post per keyword, and you are on your way. Ensure you use a good SEO plugin and a related posts plugin within your wordpress installation to help attract and retain visitors.

I don’t know what will work for you, but essentially any online business succeeds by attracting buyers. At least this way you are going direct to the larger markets. Sometimes the first step is to find an affiliate program you like, and work backwards from there. Or you may find a market you like, and work forwards. But whatever you do , give it a go – and good luck!
