Free Broadband? Seen this before? Guess what... this time it's
real! There's a UK company called JUICE quietly spreading the
word about it's free worldwide technology. Affiliates get £27/$47
on free signups too!
In short this is a software/online service that compresses pages
and uses tons of other technologies to give you a 2000kbps service - and folks, that's faster than ISDN, ASDL and the rest!
Hey- it's free, so grab your place in the prelaunch (it launches
october) and tons of money as well as getting a valuable service.
As an opportunity it makes sense. Sign up people who want the service, and also sign up those who want to promote. They're a UK company but pay in international currencies. You earn £27 / approx $47 per referral PLUS a couple of bucks on overrides (that's level 2 referrals) plus bonuses, e.g. £100 (thats $170ish) if one of your referrals signs up 8 free members. It's easier if you join instead of me trying to explain!

P.S. It's worth spending a moment or two discussing this offer since people are worried that it's a scam. The short answer is no-one knows. The site is discussed on one or two scam messageboards, but it's all speculation. JuiceBoosted won't talk (any new technology company won't!).
The main question is How Will They Make Money On a Free Service and afford the £27 payments? I can see how it could work. Juice pay you once per refferal, but have a lifetime customer who obviously they expect to be worth more than £27. Since you'll access the internet through their service (for the extra speed) they will control the `feed`. This means they can either serve ads, or they can use affiliate link. One example: You buy a book at Amazon, they make a commission. Imagine this over thousands of sites. They'll earn money, they can pay you, you get a free broadband service and the whole payment process is invisible.
But as I said, I don't know. If it does turn out to be a scam.. how can you scam a FREE service? They'll have your e-mail, but so no doubt do a thousand other companies. Time will tell, but for now can you pass up a free broadband-£27 per refferal service?

ANOTHER free service (I'm spoiling you this week!) is
CB Clicks. Yep - it's an adsense/powerads type offering but
it creates a viral list so your ad appears on tons of other
websites. The immediate problem is that of the ads you show
only one or two are yours - but hey, it's free and simple to
use (just enter your clickbank ID) so give it a go. If you

Big Ticket Sales...
Just a quick note on a few new items that have been marketed to death. First up is John Reese's Traffic Secrets Course. To increase price, and perceived value, this is a hardcopy course (printed documents, CDs, etc). In fact, this is likely to cost hundreds of dollars. I'm sure you know you can make money easier, in some situations, by selling a few big-profit items than a load of small-profit ones. It looks like most Gurus agree!
The marketing for this has been interesting. It looks like John JV'd with a lot of marketers who sent out his ezine. Nothing else, to start. Obviously, this `ezine` sold Traffic Secrets and was more-than-likely branded to each affiliate of his. But there was no hard sell up front. Then the whole thing is scheduled to the launch date. More emails follow, including an interesting video presentation. Even the site has a big clock counting down the days to the launch.
I wouldn't personally buy this. I've never bought a big-ticket product. Reading between the lines I think John's one of the `testing` guys. You know, track everything, everywhere, everytime. I still firmly doubt there's anything new here.
Another similar product is Michael Greens mega-package. "How to become stinking filthy rich online" (or something). Again, big price. Again, lot's of JVs. Again, promises you the world. Michael's knack is to knock out a lot of how-to books and sell them with Clickbank affiliates.
What can we learn from these (and others)? Should you buy them? No. Should you sell them? Yes. Catch 22!

5 Tips To Create A Kick-Butt Mini-Course
That Pulls In Thousands of Rabid

One of the fastest ways to develop, build, and grow your own
list of subscribers is to develop a "mini" course with an
incredibly compelling promise.
I have personally used "mini" courses to build lists of
several thousand subscribers in as little as a week.
A "mini" course is simply a series of e-mail's where you
teach people a specific skill, set of skills, or reveal
other information they really want to know.
In the process of providing this focused, valuable
information, you prove to your subscribers that you are THE
expert in a particular area - and, you also encourage people
to pay you to get even BETTER information from ebooks and
information products you've either written or recommend.

site. The promise of this "mini" course is strong and
compelling.

address... and this mini-course has generated thousands of
subscribers!
So here's the basic formula in a nutshell:
Strong promise+ low risk+ high perceived reward= Subscribers
Now, if you'd like to build your own list of rabid
subscribers, here are 5 sure-fire tips for creating a mini-
course that truly kicks butt!
Tip #1 - The Promise
If you want to launch a successful mini-course, target an
audience with a specific need and then make them the biggest
possible promise you can deliver on.
People are pressed for time and rarely see as much value in
something they get for free as opposed to something they pay
a lot of money for.
Add to this the fact that the Internet gets more and more
crowded everyday and you can see that the best offers are
the ones that grab people's attention by making a benefit-
driven promise they can't resist.
Even though you offer your mini-course for free, you still
must SELL people on WHY they should pay you with their time
and attention.
Example: If you want to do a mini-course on real estate
investing, look for the biggest and best promise you can
make for people.
Let's look at these various promises for identical mini-
course content:
Good: How to make a fortune in foreclosures.
Better: How to find and buy a profitable foreclosure within
2 weeks.
Best: How to find and buy a profitable foreclosure property
in your area within 2 weeks - using none of your own money!
** The promise you make has everything to do with whether or
not people sign up. IMPORTANT: After they sign up, make sure
you deliver on the promise.
Tip #2 - Don't reinvent the wheel
Look for existing content - your own or other people's - you
can adapt directly or indirectly into the mini-course.
Hey, I understand you're busy... I'm busy too!
Why would you want to spend 2 days coming up with all the
content for your mini-course if you already have past
information you can adapt!?
If you don't have any existing material, then find someone
else who has written an article and use that for part of
your mini-course - with their permission of course.
You'd be surprised at all the pieces of the puzzle that are
out there independently which you could combine into a great
mini-course without nearly the mountain of effort you might
expect.
Tip #3 - Give yourself lots of chances to make money
One way to build more value into your mini-course and make
sure people hang onto your messages instead of deleting them
is to put lots of quality links into your mini-course.
This allows people to get additional information on specific
aspects of the mini-course.
Some of those links can be to free resources, others to
resources where you earn an affiliate commission, and still
others to your own products and services.
The more links you have that actually contribute to your
students learning the subject of your mini-course and
fulfilling the promise you made to get them to sign up, the
better your chances of them clicking those links.
If you create lessons people save for future reference
because they have great links in them, you'll make more
money!
For an example look no further than your "in-box"! Almost
everybody has email messages they've saved from other people
because they contain links to sites you want to use now or
access in the future.
Tip #4 - Build anticipation for the next message
If you're going to take the time to put together the mini-
course, wouldn't it be great of the majority of people who
subscribed actually read your messages!?
If you want to launch a successful mini-course, you've got
to rise ABOVE the noise of all the other email messages
people receive every single day.
One way to do this is to always end each lesson with a small
"ad" or excitement builder for the next message. You do this
by really playing up a big benefit they'll receive as a
result of reading the next message you promise to send them.
Here's an example:
"The next and final installment in this mini-course will
give you five tips for how to get 10,000 visitors to your
website without spending a dime on pay-per-click traffic! So
stay tuned for the next lesson in 2 days..."
It's a simple, yet very powerful way to build anticipation
for the next message into EVERY message you send.
This simple step helps make them look forward to the next
message so it gets read... not trashed!
Tip #5 - Tell them what they don't know!
If you're using the mini-course to promote a product that
covers a much "bigger picture" of the topic as a whole,
constantly remind people that the mini-course is just a
"tiny piece" of the whole product.
Remind them of what else they need to know and tell them if
they buy the product then they'll get this benefit, and that
benefit, and even more specific information.
Remember, you didn't publish this mini-course to practice
your typing skills! You are in this to make money, to get
subscribers, and to make sales!
Once you deliver quality content that gives people a real
taste of what's in store when they actually purchase, then
it's time to close the sale... you deserve it!

Ten Marketing Pitfalls

If you want to make it BIG in Internet Marketing you need avoid some common mistakes. Here's a list of the top ten Pitfalls that catch out beginner Marketers (and many established ones too!).
The problem is you don't realise you have fallen into one of these holes until someone points it out. Marketers tend to be stubborn and suffer from tunnel vision - hopefully these may help you kick a few bad habits...
1. Procrastination
Putting things off is a killer where this career is concerned. You NEED a plan and some kind of time management system in place. Prioritize your tasks and keep lists of everything that needs doing. And no matter how much you don't feel like doing something just get it out of the way and NEVER leave it untill the next day!
TIP: Use post-it notes. They are low-tech but work great :-)
2. Striving for Perfection
You'll likely never have a "perfect" website or product but you know what? It doesn't matter! It's important you get started as soon as you can and make your site "live". You can tweak things as you go along and improvements WILL come later - but if you try to get everything "right" before you start then you'll never start.
TIP: Update your site daily in little ways, it saves doing everything at once and the search-engines it too.
3. Wasting Money
This one is important. Especially if you don't have money to burn! Don't get caught up jumping from opportunity to opportunity or buying everything that lands in your inbox. You'll be surprised how much you can get for free. Trust me - you don't need half the stuff you see online. Try to control your emotions and think before you buy. Write a list of pros and cons, and make sure that the product or service is essential to YOU.
TIP: Look for reviews by people without a vested interest in the product and ask questions in forums.
4. Not Spending Enough
Unfortunately you have to spend a little. It won't be much starting out, but you will need more as you grow. For a start you'll need a domain, a host, an autoresponder - but these are pretty affordable these days. The bulk of your expenses will be on promotion, usually ezine ads or pay-per-click. If you're paying someone to create your product or you're buying resell rights then this is another expense (but you can start with free affiliate programs).
TIP: Keep your "Internet Income" separate and re-invest. You'll be glad you did later.
5. Wrong Markets
This is a tricky one. If you are dead set on conquering a certain market you could end up on a long and expensive journey that is doomed to failure. Do some research first. A so-called "niche" market is a good find but only if this niche will spend money! Other markets, like Internet Marketing, are very busy BUT Internet Marketers spend money - and the drive to make money is a strong human emotion. There's a lot of them around!
TIP: Find something that interests you and use a site like nichebot.com to see how many searches there are for that subject. High Traffic and Low Demand are your goal.
6. Lack of Growth
You must continuously grow yourself and expand your mind. Learning is essential. If you don't you'll be stuck with the same skills and ideas and you'll never even notice when you are bogged down in complacency and routine.
TIP: Put some time away each day to read a few articles and browse some sites. Learning just one new idea a day can increase your potential rapidly.
7. Doing It Alone
You can do it alone but it is harder, and without support you are more likely to fail. It doesn't have to be much. On-line forums, for example, are an amazing source of ideas and encouragement. And with other people, by forming Joint Ventures or starting your own affiliate program you can really leverage your efforts and do FAR MORE than you could ever do on your own.
TIP: Visit forums, messageboards and maillists. Lurk for a while until you're ready.
8. Going For The Small Money
You aint ever gonna get rich selling $20 items. Seriously, include some higher priced goods and services in your marketing. You'll get less sales, but more profits. You won't know if they sell until you try! But don't fall into the trap of selling any old thing because you get a high commission. Integrity is important, too.
TIP: High ticket sales work better with existing customers who you already have a relationship with. Try them as a back-end.
9. Separating Life and Work
One of the biggest pitfalls when working from home is the fact that life can enroach your activities - simply because you ARE at home. Try to separate the two and have fixed times when you work, and a set area to do it. Work doesn't have to take over your life, but neither should you let life interfere with your work.
TIP: Use a spare room or a spare corner and ONLY use it for work.
10. Be Ambitious
You won't know unless you try. Assume you can do *anything* - because you can! You may not be ready to do it yet, but don't set up mental blocks in advance. You can create your own profitable items, sell them well, and have others selling them for you. You can operate a range of websites, even host seminars, or teach others. YOU CAN.
TIP: Recognise excuses for what they are. If you need help, invest in a good self-help book.
I hope identifying these pitfalls help you look at yourself differently. Contrary to popular belief internet marketing is not an instant path to riches, but it is an achievable one.
