Right - onto the sticky subject of Affiliate Links :-)
I'm concerned that some readers may see this ezine as little
more than an ad sheet. That's just not true! The `easier`
format I decided upon some months back was to include every
new program, idea and resource I could find between issues and
use them presented simply as a list.
Where possible I use Affiliate Links but if that bothers you
simply cut the affiliate-ID off. I'm unlikely to gain much from
many of these programs but if they do work for you I'd like a
piece of the pie :D My core programs at the Opportunities page
is where I focus my energies, but new programs come and old
programs go so it's ALWAYS worth looking into things.
Regardless of whether you sign up under me or someone else the
links are here to help YOU. No-one else. I often show fr'ee or
cut-price trials and I've got an article in this issue on these.
Basically a fr'ee trial is a win-win for the promoter, the
operator and the customer. It's 100% democratic and more

Googles Ad-Words are relatively new to the Pay-Per-Click arena
but already prove themselves to be far more responsive than most
other options.
Google doesn't pollute it's listings with paid-links but
places the ads at the side of the main results. It's a great
compromise for both Advertisers and Search Engine Customers.
My own simple tests of the Google system have yielded
impressive results! I've only gone about it in a haphazard way
yet still managed to come out way on top, making a tidy profit.
The best book, and system, to using Google Adwords is a cool
guide by Dave Brown called "Google Cash". It details exactly
how you can run an affiliate-based business using just Google
for your traffic. And it works. Many (many!) top marketers
will testify to the excellence of this. There are now a number
of guides on the market, but Google Cash is still the system of
choice for the guru's you know and love.
Strangely enough I used Google Cash itself (It has a clickbank
based affiliate program) to test Adwords and made a number of
sales that easily outdo the cost of the ads :-)

There's lots of different ways (and easy ways) to make money
from your website just by installing third party services. Two more
you may want to look into are Google AdSense and Revenue Pilot.

I've left Ezine Blaze. I can no longer recommend readers join
this program, but please do your own research. I (personally)
think it's not a responsive medium and newer programs such as
Responsive Mailer offer the same `SafeList` type service and
work better.
Also I'm beginning to believe EzineBlaze is slowly being
abandoned by its owners since it has remained pretty static
for a long time. I believe these owners also run Traffic
Oasis, so I wonder if Ezine Blaze signups are the leads
Traffic Oasis sells? Jus' wondering!
Just for fun I've implemented a `hidden shortcut` link at the
homepage. Go to NetpreneurNow.com and press ALT+M (some
browsers may need to then press Enter). You'll be presented

There's also other little tricks (maybe I've overdone things...)
including changing the 404 Error Page, the Scroll Bar Color,
even the cursors for the sidebar links - and I found these in a
little ebook from BoogieJacks called "100 Cool Webmaster
Tricks".

This is the first issue I've edited with NoteTab Lite. Highly
Recommended and FR-EE! I used to use Ziney Pro to edit with as
it had all the features Ezine Owners need (wordwrap, forced
line lengths, hard returns etc) but NotePad also offers all
these and more. The only problem is NoteTab doesn't have a Spell
Checker in the Lite version. NoteTab Standard is $10 and
NoteTab Pro is $20, both costing LESS than Ziney Pro which seems
BASIC in comparison.
I don't know if you've seen a cool site called Infinite Revenue
yet but I've been informed you can join at $5.97 for a trial
period!
I've been in since their beta-testing days and it's great value.
It's similar to Push Button Publishing and sites of that nature,
so for less than six bucks you CAN'T GO WRONG!
You get the usual here: Responders, Hosting, Tracking and Resale
Products, even Search Engine Optimisation. They're also real
friendly people so you shouldn't have any problems.
Another ebook title we added this week is "The Science Of
Getting Rich". It's a book along the same lines as "Think And
Grow Rich" and again considered a classic in the field. To get
this you'll need to sign up at the home page, but it's still
fr'ee.
You'll also be allowed to download other bonuses such as the
Vision Screensaver and "As A Man Thinketh".
I don't know what you think of Safelists but many members have
had success using them and I decided to take a look myself.
Yes, I know most Safelist addresses are junk (but at least
they're verified) and now Safelist response rates are very
low (but not nonexistent) but they are cheap, so it's a
no-lose trial :-)
I decided on using a Safelist Submitter tool and looking
around I found one of the most respected is "Safelist Boys"
Not as automatic as I thought but it's still a breeze to join
hundreds of Safelists. It stores your ads, safelists, log-in
details and time-limits so once setup you only need to login
each day and send your ad to the days lists.
The lists are continuously updated and on my quick trial I
gained a number of subscribers (I only sent a "Join NNews" ad)
so if you joined from a safelist ad I'd be interested to hear
from you :)
SafeList Boys only costs $1.99 for 10 days and then only $4.99
per month if you stay with it. It really is simple to use and
can be valuable.
This is a great way to mail thousands, spam-free, and without
the hassle of FFA mailings etc (which are a lot worse
quality). I'll try making sales next and I'll let you know
how I get on...
Oh, and thought it looked confusing at first I had everything
flowing well in five minutes :)

How to Get Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Services And Tools At

...by Making The Most Of Free Trials!

In the world of Internet Marketing many of the top opportunities
offer free trials to their programs. They are normally for a
months duration, but sometimes you'll get a 14-Day or even 10-
Day trial. Trials, by necessity, only occur with subscription-
based programs.
Note: You'll also find "Low-Cost" trials, but since they are
usually around $1 they are treated as free for the purpose of
this article. It's also worth noting a Free Trial is NOT a
cut-down version of the full system. It's not a `Basic` or
`Introductory` Level. You get the full Pro system for a limited
time at a cut price.
These trials are a win/win deal for both the program owner and
the targeted prospect.
The operator will gain new signups into his system, and many of
these will stay to become full paying members. Whether this is
because they actually chose to, or they forget to cancel, is
debatable; but the end result is the same. Sometimes it is an
ideal way to boost a flagging system - and that is why you find
many `older` opportunities suddenly offering free signups.
The benefits for the prospective enrollee are even better. They
get a taste of the program and are able to see what is involved
first hand, and whether it is compatible with their existing
endeavors. They will also, in most cases, get a range of gifts
and services that they can keep whether or not they remain a
full paying member. Lastly, they'll discover whether the
opportunity
lives up to it's promises - something that often happens too
late with "regular" deals!
The other reason to join any trial you see is that it gives you
time to promote the program in order to gain enough referrals to
make it self-funding - before you yourself have to pay! This
is, in my opinion, the BEST reason to join.
Many people are understandably scared that they will not be
able to cancel the subscription in time or they will be scammed
in some way.
These fears are usually unfounded as nearly all trials use third
party payment processors, and you can cancel the payment
directly.
The most popular are PaySystems and PayPal. Both offer
subscription features with free or low-cost trials for the
first payment. With both it is a VERY simple task to cancel
the payment.
It is important if you sign up to any program to remind
yourself of the first payment date and cancel a few days in
advance of this, should you wish to. Ideal reminders include
the humble low-tech Post-It Note stuck to your monitor, or
perhaps some calendar or alarm software installed on your
computer.

The days of penny-per-click quality targeted traffic are
gone, as we all know. There's just too many people wise in
the ways of PPC (Pay-Per-Click) search engines these days.
So how are we supposed to find the best bang for the buck
in a highly competitive PPC marketplace?
Testing: plain and simple.
If you're buying traffic from pay-per-click search
engines, you need to be carefully tracking your traffic
from each one, and keeping track of what the end result of
these visitors are; to your bottom line.
The tools you'll need to accomplish this task are a decent
head on your shoulders and a good traffic tracking
software package. For the most complete tracking, I
recommend higher-end packages like ClickTracks.
Once you have a decent method in place for tracking your
visitors and what they do when they get to your site, you
need to sign up for a number of different sources of
highly targeted pay-per-click traffic. A great resource
for managing many different PPC search engine campaigns is
GoToast - give them a look.
I recently performed a test of three different sources of
pay-per-click traffic. First, I evaluated and streamlined
my Overture PPC campaign for some very specific, highly
targeted keywords for my sales site.
Next I set up and managed/tweaked a PPC campaign at
Google's AdWords. This is a bit more difficult to grasp
than a normal "highest bidder gets the spot" PPC search
engine, but I feel like I've gotten a very good grasp on
the challenges of AdWords by reading/listening to the
Google AdSecrets program offered by John Gorecki - I
highly recommend it.
For a third source - and sort of as a control for the
test - I signed up for pay-per-click traffic from
MarketingBlaster.com. This isn't a PPC search engine, it's
a network of targeted Directories and sites focused on
specific topics. I signed up for both their 10 cents per
click and 5 cents per click packages. The difference
between the two is in how targeted the visitors are, and
how much traffic you can achieve with each type.
For the purposes of this test, I will use the 10 cent
traffic, as that campaign is complete. After pulling the
numbers apart on the two offerings, the conversion rate
to visitor cost was fairly close - so you really get about
the same value from either package.
Okay, let's get to the numbers.
First, for the Overture traffic, my average cost per click
was 88 cents for the range of different keywords I was
bidding on. Yes, that's fairly high per click, but I'm
bidding on some fairly valuable traffic.
Out of 240 clicks, I got 3 orders; which is about 1.25%
conversion rate; which is acceptable when considering the
industry and cost of the product involved. The larger
question is: How much did those three orders cost? Answer:
$211.20.
Google AdWords fared considerably better. My average cost
per click was only 47 cents. Out of 320 clicks, I got 8
orders; which is a 2.5% conversion rate. Very nice! So
those 8 orders cost a total of $150.40 - a dramatic
difference in result.
MarketingBlaster was a very different story.
Out of 1000 clicks, I got 42 order completions. That's an
amazing 4.2% conversion rate! Not only that, but the
clicks only cost 10 cents each; for a total of $100.
Really an amazing value.
Just for a bit of a disclaimer: I'm dealing with traffic
that is interested in SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
This is a VERY jaded group of people, and a group that is
highly web-savvy. This makes them very tough to sell to.
Perhaps these results are indicative of how the traffic
came through to my site - from Overture and AdWords
through an advertisement, and from MarketingBlaster as a
recommended resource.
However you try to explain it - MarketingBlaster just
blasted the competition! I will continue to use them, and
dump one of the other two... I'll let you guess which one!
