Hi All!

A little of how I write Netpreneur News each issue...

Netpreneur News is formed over the two-week period. I have a scratch file
where I take notes each day, from emails I receive, from sites I see and
from personal recommendations. As is often on the web a look at one site
leads to others, and sometimes I find new ideas there. All these notes get
formed into the issue you see right at the end of the two-week period. In
this you'll find the best articles I've discovered, whatever new programs
or traffic systems I've come across, and whatever new free downloads I've
been able to secure. I also formulate my notes into articles sometimes
when an idea presents itself, such as this weeks `Value` article.

Look back over past issues. You'll soon be familiar with the format. I use
affiliate links where provided (who doesn't?) but I'll have no hesitation
in recommending a site without them. I'll brand the downloads when I can,
but if I can't it won't stop me supplying it. None of this affects your
end. You still get to the same site as everyone else, or have the same
ebook or tool. And, after all, you can still (and are actively encouraged)
to promote your own Affiliate Links.

I mention this because a delve into my Subscriptions folder revealed a TON
of so-called ezines, which shall remain nameless, that are just ad-sheets.
I notice a few are syndicated and present the same information (such as
the Admistress ones, and Jeffrey Lants members). I try to provide
interesting links and opportunities and valuable information in Netpreneur
News.

I hope Netpreneur News is one that you take the time to look over :-) I'd
love some feedback, if you want to send it - just click `reply`. With my
autoresponder troubles since the move to EBEI I'd like to make sure it's
arriving. Just a quick `I got it!` would be lovely!

As always you can contact me personally at webmaster@netpreneurnow.com for
any reason. I'll be glad to help all I can.

Yours,
Stuart Reid
Editor/Webmaster

P.S. Here's a fun thing I saw on the Anthony Blake message
board...

As you may know I'm a member of Referralware - and recommend you all this
join this great program! It's unbelievable what you get for your money,
easily the most complete promotional vehicle I've seen and it's compatible
with nearly all the top programs around. I've just logged in to my
Referalware account to check out some of the bonuses I never got around to
seeing. For example, you can have a copy of Joe Kumar's `30 days to Online
Profits` (you know, the one where top marketers reveal what they would do
if they had to start from scratch). This is free in your Referralware
site! There's also an incredible series of 21 audio reports from top guru
Brian Tracy. This is just delving into a *tiny* part of the download
section.

Now... what if you could get this for free?

It's a little sneaky but you can join Referralware for a trial month for
nothing. In this month you can get all this great software so even if you
don't remain a member you can keep it all. I mean, the Joe Kumar book
alone is $97! The rest of the bonuses are worth an easy $500 if not much
more. If you shop around on the Internet you'll find a lot of trial offers
with some great deals - the hope is that you'll stick with the opportunity
and promote it yourself but if not, then there's nothing to lose.

PS. Referralware is MUCH MORE than a `download` repository. It really is
an innovative Income Stream Management System - but for now, just check it
out. You're guaranteed NOT to be disappointed!
http://rware.opportunity.com

Another big program I'm involved with is Push Button Publishing. No free
trials here, but they have recently dropped the $20 sign-up charge! This
means you only pay the looow monthly cost to get everything they offer. A
quick roundup: PBP offers Hosting, Autoresponders and Master Rights
Packages (just to start). They also run a Master Reseller Club where you
can have *any* package you find on the net bought *for* you! Throw in
excellent support, a master plan (much better than most expensive courses
and books I've seen!) and even a busy forum and you have the ultimate
members club.

I bet you're all tired of me plugging PBP but believe me, it's for a good
reason!
http://pbpub.opportunity.com

P.S. Affiliates now get $10 a month recurring, and the affiliate program
is free! So even if you don't want to join the club itself (though I'd
love you too) please join the affiliate program (5 levels) because many
other people WOULD join under you ;-)

P.P.S. Recent additions make the total value over $7000 (no bull) and
includes many pro template and script packages, tools, ebooks and ebook
collections and almost everything you've seen sold on ebay!

P.P.S. I've just had a quick peek at the newest additions. They are a
Scripts Pack (worth $97), 50 Premium Site Templates (worth $99), Software
Pack Mega Bundle (48MBs Worth!!), Instant Cover Graphics, Virtual Vending
Machines, Mega Site Builder (brandable)... take a look at the site, and
scroll down the main page to see the full list.
http://pbpub.opportunity.com

SRPs (Shared Profits) are in trouble and so have temporarily closed down
the issue of new SRP points. Shared Profits claim to be funded by venture
capital and the like, and make a large income from a small one via
`investments`. The SRP points themselves are awarded by participating
sites. Depending on the outcome SRPs may return but I wouldn't hold my
breath. They always seemed a little too good to be true.

Clickbank has at long last updated its security, meaning that many old
links may no longer work from Dec. Tracker codes must now be placed on
Clickbank marketplace sites, but it should prevent affiliate theft and
allow you to promote more than one program. Old links will remain
compatible for a few weeks but you can easily convert them to the new
system. Visit:
http://www.clickbank.com/kount.htm for more information.

JVAlert is one of a new breed of Joint Venture sites, but just visit this
and take a look at who's involved! Unfortunately, you need to be invited
to get in :-) If you own a list or a product just visit this site. It can
connect you to large lists of people to promote your product too, or
product owners to promote to your list...
http://www.jvalert.com

Joint ventures seem to have exploded recently. They've always been there,
but now these community-oriented sites seem to be popping up all over the
place. The usual Joint Venture invariably takes the form of `promote my
product to your list` type offers. However, you can form more complicated
partnerships, such as joint authoring reports, software development or
even mergers.

Here's another fine site:

ADGizmo is working well for me, and I mentioned it last issue. Of note is
the fact that it doesn't disrupt autosurfer sites and you can cloak normal
URLs to display an AdGizmo on top! I can tell how popular it is by the
speed credits get used up. There's also full click through and impression
reports available, so you know what ads work and what don't.
http://www.AdGizmo.com/cloak.php?957

Opt-In Blast ( http://www.optin-blast.opportunity.com ) is a promotional
and business opportunity that seems to be some kind of safelist type email
program. Of note is the fact that links must be clicked each day to remain
valid (meaning your message will be read) but also to remain as
participant (meaning you must also go through the pain of clicking daily
links). This may work for you, but if it remains as strict as it sounds I
can see a lot of people losing patience.

Don't forget you can advertise in Netpreneur News to over 25,000
subscribers at VERY competitive rates. Visit:

EBEI (the home of Netpreneur News) is now offering $1 trial memberships!
This gets you custom-built doorway pages for various programs (just check
them out!) and a full autoresponder which you can buy leads for 1c each,
all totally spam-protected. Empire Building Essentials is part of the
Ultimate Free Downline, so join both at: http://ebei.opportunity.com
to take advantage of this $1 trial offer!

Whenever I see $1 or Free Trials I have no problem in signing up. Just
remember to make a note of the `cancel by` date so you don't get charged
the 2nd month. There is NO obligation with these kinds of offers.
Obviously, the site owners want you to stay - but never feel you HAVE to.

Another one is Wealthy Secrets. I don't have an affiliate link for you,
since I canceled mine, but if you'd like a look at this (controversial)
program go to:
http://www.wealthysecrets.net

Two Bit Site is now in full launch. It's an `income multiplier` where you
can work your way up the positions to generate a large income from a
starting point of $0.25 - it's main problem is the fact it uses INTGold
(see below) but the program is solid and the constant emails from the
admin and programmers mean that you are in touch with developments all the
time, a refreshing change!
http://www.two-bit-site.com/?ig=36272
(If Two-Bit is currently down when you check don't worry - it's undergoing
a restructure process to make it work harder for its members)

INTGold is a new payment processor that powers quite a few bizopp sites.
This is mainly due to Pay Pal's increasingly strict approach to anything
it deems a pyramid scheme or chain letter, which are usually anything but!
It's worth having a free INTGold account ready. It's a strong, safe
payment option but you do get the usual funding problems and having to use
third-party sites. These problems are more difficult if you need to fund
your account from outside the USA.
https://intgold.com/m/join.cgi/36272

ISORegister has undergone another big expansion. Just visit the site to
see all the downloads, offers, free memberships, discounts and more you
can get. For the money you really can't beat this.

Don't forget ISORegister is now $9.95 a month as from October the first,
so you've already missed the old $7.97 price. Still.. $9.95 a month is
amazing value. ISORegister stick to their `locked in` price promises, so
even getting a $9.95 subscription means you're protected from future price
increases. In fact, I pay $6 a month (the launch price!).

The Value of Value

By Stuart Reid

How do you make sure your offer is `Valuable` to your prospective
customers? How would you define `Value`?

A workable definition could simply be this:

How useful your product seems to the person you're currently addressing.

Value is different for everyone. Many people equate the length of a report
to how valuable it is. This is patently wrong. A two-page report that
makes you $100 is infinitely superior to a 100 page epic that helps you
scrape in $10.

People also tend to equate price with value. Again, if a $47 eBook gives
you some new insight that multiplies your traffic tenfold then it's
obviously better than a free report that tells you nothing new. More often
than not, this can work the opposite way wrong. 'Free' does not mean
substandard!

Whenever you sell online you need to make your offer seem valuable to the
largest percentage of your target market as possible. This means the old
ad-copy tricks need to be applied.

Appeal to their wants, not their needs.

If they `think` size is Value then beef up your offer. If they think
`price` is Value then alter it. Pricing is a strange phenomenon in itself.
Sometimes items will sell better at the higher price. It increases
`perceived` Value!

Rarity can increase Value. This is a common technique used in marketing.
Witness the amount of "Order by Midnight" or "Only 20 Left" calls to
action you see.

It turns out Value isn't Value at all. It's just how well you can present
your product to the right people. Once an item is purchased with perceived
Value the buyer becomes guilty about returning it or requesting a refund.
Offer enough Value and refund requests are incredibly rare.

Get your offer right and you can sell anything.

That's Marketing in a nutshell!

Believing These 5 Joint Venture Myths Is Bad For Business

Joint Ventures - or JVs for short - are a hot topic lately.
But for people earning their living online JVs are nothing
new. All of the most successful Internet Marketers already
know that they are the fastest, easiest way to grow ANY
business in ANY industry.

To help you get started using JVs in your business, here's
the truth behind the 5 biggest Joint Venture myths...

Myth #1: Joint Ventures are only for the “big guys”.

The truth is JVs are even more important for small
businesses than they are for large ones. Sound crazy?

Well consider this...

What are the characteristics of a small business? No mailing
list, lack of recognition, limited contacts in the industry,
few products or services to offer. These are exactly the
things that businesses Joint Venture for!

The key is to look at what you do have to offer and find
someone who is willing to give you something you need in
exchange for it. What you offer may be your time (for
example to write a report or organize a contest), a
percentage of your sales, your expertise - or any other
resource you have that others need.

Myth #2: The only people you should approach with a Joint
Venture proposal are those who have huge lists and high
traffic web sites.

If you can get those people interested in working with you
then great! But more often than not this isn't possible for
small businesses.

So how do you use Joint Ventures to grow your business?

Simple – approach other small businesses. Chances are they
too are looking for ways to grow so they'll be eager to
work with you. Even if you only get a few visitors or
subscribers, remember, you wouldn't have gotten them at all
on your own!

Myth #3: You should never approach your competition with a
Joint Venture deal.

“Coopertion” is a term that became popular a few years ago.
It is a hybrid of “competition” and “cooperation” and is a
great word to describe how you should look at Joint
Ventures.

Unless you are selling the EXACT same product (for example
through resell rights) then go ahead and approach them with
a proposal that will benefit both of you.

An example of how you can do this is to co-author a report
on your industry. Include information on both of your
products and then jointly offer it to your customers.
You'll be surprised how many people purchase both products.

Myth #4: You must have your own product to do Joint
Ventures.

If you are online to make money then you are obviously
offering SOMETHING. That may be a product you sell for
someone else, a newsletter, information or something else
of value to your target market. No matter what it is, you
still need the same thing as people who have their own
product – leads!

This is where JVs come in. What you need to do is look for
people who are already making offers to your target market
and approach them about working together. Offer them
something they wouldn't have on their own and they'll gladly
partner with you.

Myth #5: Having someone recommend your product or service
is the only type of Joint Venture worth doing.

When someone recommends your product to their list or web
site visitors it is known as an “Endorsement” Joint
Venture. Basically, its an affiliate program only you
typically give the person a higher commission.

Although this type of Joint Venture is very successful, it
is only ONE of many types of Joint Ventures. And depending
on what you're offering it may not even be the most
effective.

Be creative when thinking of possible Joint Ventures.
Consider running a contest, creating your own ad co-op,
doing ad swaps, co-authoring an ebook or even co-creating
a whole new product or service. You’re only limited by your
imagination!

There you have it, the truth behind the 5 biggest Joint
Venture myths. Now that you have some ideas for using JVs
in your business, get out there and make some money!

Featured Program
====================

You may have seen all the `Randomizers` doing the rounds. Basically, you
pay a fee (usually $10) to be placed into a random system where you can
receive $10's yourself. The trick with these is to get in early so there's
little competition at the start. Mostly though, they are nearly a lottery
with little chance of making much.

A new system offered by JVE Advertising aims to change this. This earns
you $10 as the Randomizers do but its main aim is as a viral advertising
system. On the page that you promote your ad appears in the top-left and
two random ads appear below. Your ad will also appear on others pages.
They call it the `Magnetizer`.

If you want to take part just visit this link:
http://jpesafelists.com/magnet/index.php?username=essjayar

Remember, it's a brand new idea and could pay dividends if you get in
early.

Clone Your Best Customers

by Marcia Yudkin

Two businesses -- a women's clothing boutique and a
mail-order operation -- recently consulted me about
the same dilemma. Each had achieved satisfying sales
through channels that didn't allow for further growth.
They needed a fresh marketing program that would yield
a steady stream of new customers, and they were
confused about where and how to advertise.

Like Dorothy with the ruby slippers in the Wizard of
Oz, they already had most of what they needed for a
solution, but they didn't know how to use what they
had. They needed to investigate who their buyers --
especially their highest-spending and most frequent
patrons -- were. In doing so, they'd learn how to
clone their best customers.

The general principle: Discover the characteristics of
your current customers and use that knowledge to reach
more shoppers just like them.

The clothing store already knew the age range, income
level and some cultural interests and hobbies of its
clientele. I suggested that they find out which
newspapers, magazines and TV and radio programs their
buyers read, watch or listen to, as these might prove
prime advertising vehicles. Once ads are running in
many places, you can also ask customers which
media outlet persuaded them to come into the store,
although many buyers don't remember this information.

The mail-order operation had little knowledge of the
income or the educational level of its purchasers,
since orders so far had come in through the anonymity
of the Internet. However, it was relatively simple
for them to send a follow-up questionnaire by e-mail,
which asked a buyer's age, educational background,
employment status (employed or self-employed), income
bracket and profession. The brief questionnaire also
asked how satisfied they were with their purchase,
generating glowing testimonials along with a few
complaints. Questionnaire answers would help this
business intelligently choose where to advertise.

To the clothing store, I suggested marketing
strategies besides advertising for cloning its best
customers. Since many store regulars were involved
with charitable organizations, the store could let
buyers know, through a postcard to its mailing list or
a flyer slipped in with purchases, that it might
produce a fashion show to benefit their favorite
charity. Most likely, customers' dearest non-profit
organization appealed to others who would also be
attracted to the boutique's distinctive style of
clothing.

Since many patrons had creative hobbies, like
painting, music, weaving or writing, it made sense to
appeal to others who spent spare time on the arts. I
suggested selecting a different customer's creative
work to feature in the store every month. I envisioned
a display of one woman's pottery or poetry, with a
color photo of her wearing the store's clothing.
Surely the woman in the spotlight would bring in
friends like herself and patrons would urge their
creative women friends to apply for the honor.

Scientists say human cloning isn't quite on the
horizon, but in marketing cloning techniques like
these already produce new customers!
