Hi All!
I'm sitting here typing at 21:10 on a rainy Thursday evening. It'
s pretty gloomy out, and the fluorescent light of my monitor is
casting eerie shadows around the room.
It feels strange, typing away alone in this flickering room yet
reaching out to thousands across the globe. When you sit back and
think about it, it's nothing short of amazing. This `Internet` we
all take for granted deserves more respect!
When you subtract the `bad` things on the 'net (Porn, Warez, Spam
and Viruses) you're left with something of beauty. An open
library, free knowledge to all. Knowledge is Power, they say, so
with such an abundant source of it shouldn't we all, ultimately,
be `powerful` and shouldn't ANYTHING be possible for us net
wanderers?
My thoughts recently have been as dark as the sky outside. 'Is
this worth it?' I've been thinking. Is it actually working? Does
anyone *believe* they can make REAL money on the Internet? Every
mail we read says that we can - but haven't their authors got
other motives in mind - i.e. their own pocket?
Is the answer to making money simply to fool the rest of the net?
I'd like to think not. You'd be fooling yourself, not anyone else.
ALL the great names have made their money from innovation,
replication and honesty. That is, create something new and show
others how to sell it.
A lot of courses, emails and sites now seek to destroy the myths.
It seems to be the new trend to be honest - what a great idea!
Every now and then I get an email from a subscriber or a downline
member with a question that I'm glad to answer - whether it's a
general one or program-specific one. Mails like this bring me
back to earth.
Of course this all worth it!
I'm not a religious person (and I'm sorry to get so poetic in
this mailing!) but...
P.P.S. The format is changed a little this week. The contents are
back to the top, and we've included TWO articles for the first
time ever. The second one was just too interesting to leave out ;)
P.P.S. My computer broke this week (no idea what went wrong) and
I've now got a go-faster machine! I can get more done and
everything seems just that little bit more stable, even on XP.
It's funny that my first computer was 166mhz at over a $1000
dollars, then 366mhz for around $500 now 2Ghz for $300 - at this
rate I'll be getting a 4ghz machine for $150 next year!
Seems like the double power / half price formula holds true.
People will always expect more for less - use THAT little nugget
to your advantage too :-)

One aspect of marketing that takes up most of your time and money
is promotion. I'm always open to new ideas and tricks, but it's
an old system that's caught my eye recently.
I'm talking about Traffic Exchanges. They've been around for a
long time (in marketing terms) now and been dismissed by many.
However, when I actually got around to using them seriously (for
Commission Spyder, see below) amazing things happened.
I gained some signups, and paid ones at that!
Commission Spyder has been hitting the exchanges a lot - and it's
done for a purpose. If all Commission Spyder members run the
exchanges correctly as instructed then it creates a situation

If you sell face-to-face, you might only need to speak with a
few negative Prospects each day. If you sell over the phone,
you may be exposed to dozens or even hundreds of mean
and nasty Secretaries, Screeners, and even Prospects on a
daily basis. A great idea is to have a Stuffed Animal on your
desk and pretend it's your Prospect or Customer. As you're
speaking with them on the phone, you can reach over and
tickle or stroke the Animal. And, if you get upset you can
wack it upside the head. Of course, if you get real frustrated
you can even drop-kick it across the room. The key of course
is that you'll be taking out your frustrations on the Stuffed
Animal instead of allowing them to build up inside of you.
The richest Billionaire and the poorest Bum both have one
thing in common. They both start each and every day with
1,440 minutes in their time bank. Every day it's up to us to
invest our time wisely or waste it foolishly. A recent survey
stated that the average salesperson wastes 6 minutes an
hour. Although I personally feel that's a gross
understatement, let's assume it's correct. If we work an 8
hour day, that's 48 minutes a day. Multiplied by 5 days,
that's 240 minutes a week which is 4 hours. If you times that
by 50 weeks, that's 200 hours or an amazing 5 weeks a year.
I hope you can see from this example that we all need to

SALES SKILLS from Mr. Fanta$tic
Using the Prospect's or Client's Name properly can be very
beneficial. During your opening or introduction you can use
their Name 3 times. You can say; "Mr. Prospect please. Mr.
Bob Prospect? Bob, my name is . . ." In addition you can use
their Name at the beginning of a sentence every minute or so
to get their attention back in case they've mentally drifted
off. Finally, please don't use their Name in the middle or at
the end of a sentence. If you slur your speech or run your
words together you've just confused them because it will
sound like you've attempted to create a new word. Anytime
you use a word or phrase that they don't understand, you've
lost them for 15 to 20 seconds while they try to figure out
what you just said.
Depending on the Product or Service you sell, the F.O.R.M.
Formula can work wonders for you during Qualifying to get
your Prospect or Client to talk about themselves. The "F"
stands for Family so get them to chat about one of their
favorite subjects and you'll score a bunch of points. "O"
represents Occupation so encourage them to talk about their
Job or Career and rack up even more points. "R" is for what
they do for Recreation and can be a life-saver later during
your Presentation or when handling Objections. Last but not
least in "M" for Money. That could be the total amount they
can invest or commit to, the monthly installments that will fit
their budget, or possibly their income or net worth, etc. If
you'll use this Formula you'll waste less time talking at and
invest more time talking with people.

Here are FIVE TIPS TO GET MORE TIME IN YOUR LIFE!
1. WRITE IT DOWN. Figure out if you are a paper planner person or
a Palm Pilot Person. Find a planner you like, use it religiously.
You only get 168 hours in a week, and if you don't schedule them,
someone else will do it for you.
2. ELIMINATE CLUTTER. Executives at major companies waste over 24
hours a year searching for common widgets like staplers, 3-hole
punches, jammed photocopiers, missing coffee mugs, etc. You and I

color is your desk? Here's a big idea: most people already own
everything they need to make a million dollars in the next 3
years. The secret is to reduce, not accumulate.
3. KILL TIME VAMPIRES. What steals your time? TV? Cutting the
grass? Doing laundry? What $10 per hour tasks do you waste time
on that could be outsourced while you concentrate on $50 per hour
tasks? You only get 168 hours each week, and many vampires are
out there to steal them!
4. TERMINATE TOLERATIONS. What are you tolerating in your life?
What do you put up with that drains your precious energy? WHO do
you tolerate? Why do you insist of repeating patterns that don't
support you? What has this cost you? How much longer are you
willing to endure this without change?
5. CREATE KEY LIFE AREAS. Did you have a health and fitness goal
last year? Do you have one this year? Your health can be
radically shifted with just 4% of your week's hours. What about
relationship goals, travel goals, business goals, spiritual
goals? If you aren't planning August already, it will zip by. ALL
AREAS OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU WANT TO FLOURISH NEED A PLAN, NOT

Terrible Lie #1: You need to sell more to make more money.
Fact: You need to sell less to make more money.
I have a motto: In order to sell more, you must first learn
to sell less, a whole lot less. Sound crazy?
I have a friend who just moved from selling photocopier
machines to selling Mercedes-Benzes in the most prestigious
dealership in New England. His secret? While selling
photocopiers, he did the exact opposite of what everyone
else in his company as doing: he focused less on "selling"
and more on why his customers wanted to buy.
In fact, he stopped selling altogether and made his mission
to discover precisely how he could solve more problems for
his customers than anyone else in his company. He not only
solved more problems, he made more money, and opened up
more opportunities than any other "copier salesman" in his
industry.
Terrible Lie #2: Most salespeople are "full of themselves"
Fact: The world's best salespeople are full of other people.
In my seminars, I play a little game with the audience.
I say: "It's the last week of the month and you haven't made
half your quota. Your boss in on your case, and you may lose
your job if you don't make three sales in the next two hours.
"Okay? So it's 9:30 in the morning and you NEED to
make a sale, you pick up the phone to make your first call...
"And here's my question: What in the world is going
through your head as you dial the telephone?"
The typical responses from the audience: "I wonder if
I'll make this sale... I hope she says yes... This call better
not turn out like the rest... etc."
And to these responses I ask: "And as long as you're
thinking about yourself, how interested will you be in
finding out how you can help your prospect?"
The typical answer: "Not too interested at all!"
"And if you're not interested in your prospect," I add.
"Why in the world would your prospect ever become
interested in YOU?
Terrible Lie #3: Selling is one of the worst paid professions
on the planet.
Fact: Selling is the highest paid profession on the planet.
After spending thousands of hours studying some of the
richest salespeople alive (people like Steve Jobs, Larry
Ellison, and Mary Kay Ash), I came upon two very surprising
realizations:
1. The world's greatest salespeople never "appear" to
be selling anything at all (in fact, you'll never catch a great
salesperson making any irritating sales pitches or initiating a
single close).
2. And despite the fact the world's greatest salespeople
don't "appear" to be selling anything, they still manage to
outsell every one of their competitors!
Note: most people don't think of successful business
executives and celebrities as salespeople; in fact,
when most of us think of a typical salesperson we
think of a "pushy" used car salesman or an annoying
insurance rep. But these so-called "salespeople" aren't
really salespeople at all, they're professional peddlers
(cashiers in fancy suits). Which leads us to Terrible Lie #4:
Terrible Lie #4: Great salespeople use slimy tactics.
Fact: The world's best salespeople hardly use any tactics
at all.
Selling (in the traditional definition of the word) is a crude,
simple-minded pursuit, it's using deceptive gestures, words,
and emotional appeals that persuade and manipulate our
prospects into doing something he may (or may not) want to do.
Now, do you really think Steve Jobs became one of the most
beloved CEO's in the world using ridiculous, simple-minded
sales tactics?
Or what about Mary Kay Ash? Could you imagine her
using "Leading Questions" or a "Porcupine Close" on
national TV?
Of course not! The world's greatest salespeople wouldn't
be caught dead using any kind of crude, slimy selling techniques..
.
They interact with thousands (and even millions) of people each
year; they make the most money... attract the most opportunities..
.
and effortlessly rise to the top of every profession...
Terrible Lie #6: Great salespeople have the gift of gab.
Fact: The world's best salespeople have the gift of listening.
Professional salespeople also enjoy listening to their
prospects (they're not simply waiting for their turn to speak);
they never look for what their prospects can do for THEM;
but are intensely interested in what they can do for their
prospects!

Find Time For Home Biz Success by

We often hear from ones who say that they just don't have
enough time to devote to their home business. They work full
time, raise kids, take care of aging parents, or for other
reasons are just too busy to devote much time to a biz.
Still, they would like a home business if they could only
find the time. In this article we want to review some common
areas where most folks tend to waste time, and how you can
tame these life stealers.
# 1 TV Viewing
This ranks as the greatest time stealer of all! "Wait a
minute" you might say, "don't tell me to give up my favorite
TV programs!" No, we are not going to tell you to quit
watching TV altogether. However, with just a little effort
you can save TONS of time that could otherwise be spent on
your home biz. Consider some ideas:
* Record Your Favorite Programs and Fast-Forward Through
Commercials.
This could trim off a third or more of the time
it takes to watch them.
* Control the TV - Don't let it Control You.
Instead of vegetating in front of the TV for hours, watching
everything that comes on, try picking only the programs you
really want to see and setting the recorder. Sometimes it
may be good to just chill out in your easy chair and turn on
the tube, but once you get into the habit of recording
shows, you may find more recordings to view than you have
time for. The more productive time you spend on your home
business will start to become a habit (so will the extra
money that you earn from it!), you will spend less time with
the TV naturally, and find that you have more energy too!
# 2 Recreation
Here is another big time stealer. Everyone needs some
recreation, but most of us think we need more than we really
do. Consider that most folks work all week just for a few
moments of fun on the weekend. Back when I was working a
J.O.B. the factory was full of ones like this. They lived
their lives for fun in the sun. Never planning for anything
but more recreation. When the flag ship factory closed it's
doors and laid most of us off, these same ones wanted to
know how they would afford their boat payments, golf cart
notes, vacation bills etc. Many had mortgaged themselves to
the hilt with recreation bills.
I was smiling because I knew we would get a nice severance
package, and that I could now focus full time on my home biz
that I always had worked on the side (I have toys too, and
enjoy fun in the sun, but I pay cash for those things or I
don't buy them - no credit for me on recreation - no sir!).
I had turned down a few weekends of pleasure seeking over
the years, but when the whip came down, I'm sure glad I did!
I work harder for myself than I ever did for someone else,
but I control when I work, and how much I want to make.
Since I love what I do, it really is not like work. I still
limit myself on recreation, but when we do play, we really
play well!
A profitable home business is something that you should want
to do for the rest of your life. Recreation, and TV viewing
have their place. We all need relaxation and recreation, but
you might want to consider just how much time you spend
recreating when you could be building a home biz that will
give you something to do in your retirement years (not to
mention help you get there faster).
Many dream of the time when they will just lay around the
pool and do nothing for the rest of their lives. Well, I'm
here to tell you, that many wealthy or retired folks who get
to do pretty much what they want will admit - it flat gets
old doing nothing! Developing work ethic is one of the
biggest obstacles for most folks who would like to work from
home. Start Now, by putting limits on your recreation, and
you will find all kinds of time for building your home biz!
# 3 The Internet
"Now Wait Just a Minute" you might be saying, "I'm building
my business with the net". That might be true, but there are
a LOT of things you can do online besides building your
business. If you aren't careful, time can be focused away
from your work and more toward pleasure seeking or just
plain old surfing. Before you know it, you could spend hours
in front of your PC without doing one thing to promote your
business. A PC with an Internet connection can develop into
your digital recreation tool. The very thing that is
supposed to save time and make our lives easier could become
our biggest life stealer! Again, you need to limit yourself.
In any of these activities, it would be good to take note of
how much time you spend with them. Try keeping a careful
record for just one week and you may be surprised. Each hour
take note of what you spend time doing, and make a log. You
will quickly isolate where the time for building your home
