**To all our American readers, happy July 4th!**
This is issue 46 of Netpreneur News and I'd like some help from
you, dear reader. I need some feedback on how you find this ezine.
As a little incentive I'm going to put all responses in a
`virtual hat` and the winner drawn at random will receive a prize
of a solo-ad to this ezine. Pretty valuable, as I don't run solo
ads :-) I'll also thrown in a bonus or two, perhaps a couple of
resell-right packages.

RE: The Ad Question above
At Netpreneur News we've never been a great fan of advertising.
Of course, ezines such as this make their money from their ads
but some, I believe, overdo it. I actually receive more opted-in
ads than I do spam! It's not too much of a problem with judicious
use of email filters and seperate mail boxes, but you get my
problem. I wonder sometimes how many ezines actually get read.
The only real way around this problem is to offer good content
and limit advertising. This is one reason for the question in the
survey above. Do you mentally filter out the ads? Do you read
them? Are you tired of them?
I'd love to hear your feedback on the ezine ad question and I'll
publish any responses next week (include your permission and a
link if you want some free promotion :-) ). Some things to
consider: Ezines are mostly fr'ee, ads can help pay for them, too
many ads will turn away readers and blindly promoting everything
can ruin your reputation. Subscribers ads are important to me
because this is YOUR ezine as much as mine, but other ads (paid
or not) can be too much.
I like to think I have the balance right here (hardly any ads,
only an ad sheet now and then and a few program announcements). I'
d like to here YOUR views. Feel free to use the Forum to post
your ideas at any time.
P.S. It's come to my attention that hosting downloads at the
Members Site is against the terms of service for the host (!?)
This I don't understand (what's the point of having a host where
you can't host files?) but I may have to change hosts soon.
Disruption will be kept to a minimum.

PayPal is starting to come down on MLM type companies. One of the
latest victims is the Unlimited PayPal Profits Member-to-Member
Program. This now uses StormPay instead. The regular Unlimited

When I originally met my Mentor, one of the first and greatest
Tips he taught me was how easy it really is to Become a World
Expert. He explained that knowledge is power and if you invest
one hour a day to study any one Subject, that within 5 years you
would be a world-expert in that particular Subject. It might have
something to do with the Industry you already work in, a favorite
hobby, or even an interest you had many years ago and got away
from. Just imagine what that knowledge will be worth to you in
the future. You can earn an income from writing Articles, Books,
Audio or Video Tapes, and even as a Speaker, Trainer, or
Consultant and take total control your financial destiny.
SALES SKILL from Mr. Fanta$tic
It's great that Sales Pros want to acquire Industry knowledge
about their Product or
Service. The danger is that they then want to tell every Prospect
and/or Customer
everything they ever wanted to know, and usually a whole bunch
that they didn't want or need to know. Then they end up with too
many educated Prospects and too few Sales. A great way to avoid
diarrhea of the mouth is to have a Short and Long Version for
every Feature and Benefit, every Question, and every Objection.
Just how short can they be?
Here's some quick examples for Objections;
"I'm not Sure." . . . "I am."
"I want to think about it." . . . "That's not acceptable."
"I want to wait." . . . "We need to get started now."
"I can't afford it." . . . "You can't afford not to do it."

Why do some ebooks sell off the charts, while other ones
can barely get off the ground?
You'd be surprised.
The other day, I was having breakfast with a friend who is
a world-famous, best-selling "bookstore book" author. I
asked him, "Hey - how's your ebook doing?"
His answer: "I've... sold... four."
We talked for a little while about what he was doing. I
saw his problem - he was applying his success formula for
"bookstore books" to ebooks. And it wasn't working very
well on the 'Net.
I told him, "People don't buy ebooks to stimulate their
minds or indulge their imaginations. Harry Potter would
never make it as an ebook. Authors you see on Larry King
or Oprah don't write the kind of books that sell well as
digital products on the Net. If he were alive and writing
today, even Ernest Hemingway would fall short."
Me, I'm what you would call a best-selling ebook author.
But, unlike the New York Times bestselling authors, I don't
write any groundbreaking, "brilliant" material to sell on
the Web.
What I write is intensely *practical* -- simple, step-by-
step, problem-solving, time-saving stuff. With ebooks like
that, my sales really do go off the charts.
Now you might accuse me of bragging. But now that I have
your attention, how would you like to know my secret for a
bestselling ebook?
It's simple.
The ebook must...
1) make a big promise
2) to solve a major, nagging problem
3) for a rabid market.

To show you what I mean, here are three examples of ebook
ideas.
First, a lame example:
An ebook on creating a more pleasant living environment for
yourself by choosing the right wall hangings. This could
possibly work as a bookstore book, but it's a TERRIBLE idea
for a bestselling ebook.
Why? Because there just isn't a large, rabid group of
people laying awake at night, tossing and turning, tortured
with the thought, "If only I had the right paintings and
tapestries on my walls, then my life would be perfect."
Now, let's move on and look at an OK example:
An ebook on keeping an old junker going without spending a
lot of money. This is "OK" because there are always a lot
of people who have old, broken-down cars and need to keep
them going without putting tons of money into repairs.
This problem really does keep them awake at night.
Why is this only an "OK" idea?
Because even though it would make sense from your point of
view for these people to spend $19 or $29 on your ebook to
save hundreds of dollars in repairs, they are probably
watching their pennies and won't be super-likely to buy
your ebook.
Sure, they should.
But that doesn't mean they will.
Finally, an excellent example:
An ebook on a how to save A LOT of money selling your own
house without using a real estate agent, thus holding onto
thousands of dollars you would have otherwise paid in
commissions.
This is an "excellent" ebook idea because in America, one
in five people move every year - so there's a large market.
They're "rabid" because many of them really resent paying
real estate agents a large commission, and that commission
is a major, annoying problem for these people.
By the way, I have a friend who wrote such a book, and the
sales of his ebook have given him and his wife enough money
to cover their own mortgage and two car payments every
month for several years.
I'd call that a best-seller -- wouldn't you? :)
So, to wrap up, before you dive into your new ebook, ask
yourself these three questions:
1. Who is my Rabid Market?
2. What is my Big Promise?
3. What Major, Nagging Problem does it solve?
Answer those questions, and you're well on your way to
creating a best-selling ebook on the Internet!

*will* run out of steam at some point but how soon this happens I
couldn't say.
Think of this as a fun diversion rather than a real biz opp and
