Hi all!
Welcome to Netpreneur News Issue 43, published on 11th June 2003.
First, a quick change to our publication dates. For the time
being we are leaving our scheduled Tuesday dates. From now on
Netpreneur News will be published whenever there is an issue
ready to be published. This is "usually" once a week, but it's
not set in stone, so to speak.
MembersSite.net is up and running. The old link to the members
site at netpreneurnow.com/members now redirects to this new
domain. This means that some of the load will be taken off our
main site (download sites use a lot of bandwidth). It also means
that should, god forbid, netpreneurnow.com ever go down again
you'll still have access to our downloads.
The username and password remain the same for the time being.
Any changes will be emailed using this list, so keep your email
address current :-)
The second new site, ezadverts, will be launched soon. This will
be packed with everything to do with promotion. Lifetime
memberships will be $20 but you can join for free if you are in
my downline in any program, including the free ones. This of
course makes membership essentially free :-) More information
soon.
If you write your own newsletter, or wish to (something you
should seriously consider) then you need subscribers. A new

When you make your living on the Internet, you can
sometimes forget that the tools and resources you take for
granted might rate an incredible discovery to someone who
doesn't already know they exist.
Whether they help you save time, save money, or avoid
frustration, these tools and services rate my highest
recommendation for just plain making life easier, faster
and cheaper.
1. Short Keys -
Available free at www.shortkeys.com/lite.htm, Short Keys
allows you to create shortcut keys to cut down on
repetitive typing tasks. I absolutely love this program
because of the amount of time it saves me every single day.
2. Good Keywords -
Available free at www.goodkeywords.com, Good Keywords
enables you to condense hours of keyword research into a
few seconds. Find out the top keywords your target audience
searches for so you can put your advertising dollars in the
right spot to catch the biggest fish.
3. Mail Washer -
Available free at www.mailwasher.net, this program enables
you to spot and delete spam and viruses before downloading
them to your computer. With so much spam clogging my email
in-box, I couldn't survive any more without this program!
4. ClickBank -
If you sell a downloadable product such as an ebook,
report, or software, you can't beat Clickbank for
processing credit card payments. Not only do they take the
payments and send you a check twice a month, they also plug
your product into an existing network of thousands of
affiliates who can sell it for you.
5. GoDaddy.com -
Cheap, reliable, easy to use domain name registrar that
only charges $8.95 per year for each domain name you
register. Godaddy rates cheaper and just as, if not more,
reliable than any other domain registrar.
6. GroupMail -
Visit www.infacta.com to download the free version of
GroupMail. The program allows you to email and do mail
merge to your entire database of contacts. It's a great way
to stay in touch with customers, family, and clients.
7. Google -
As far as I'm concerned, Google.com rates as the Web's best
search engine. When I need to find something online in a
hurry, Google usually produces exactly what I want to
locate!
8. Front Page -
Say what you want about Microsoft, but the FrontPage html
editor has served me well for the last 5 years and
counting. Though I don't use the more advanced features, I
can always count on FrontPage to help me get my web pages
done quickly and easily.
9. Smart FTP -
Log on to www.smartftp.com and download a free copy of the
easiest FTP program I've every used. If you need to
transfer files to and from a web server and you know how to
use Windows Explorer, Smart FTP will enable you to upload
files to the web like a pro in minutes.
10. Note Tab Light -
Perhaps my favorite tool of all. Note Tab enables me to
easily format text messages for my newsletters, manipulate
html code and remove formatting from word processing
documents. Log on to www.notetab.com for a free copy of the
"light" version.

5 Ways To Jump-Start Your Affiliate Commissions

Affiliate marketing is one of the most talked about topics
on the internet... and for good reason.
Next to creating your own products, it's one of the best
ways to make a full or part-time income online. In fact,
some prove me wrong and earn a better living exclusively
promoting other people's products and services.
And although it can be easy, 80-90% of affiliates don't
earn more than $100 a month.
But you can be part of the top 10-20% with a simple plan
and some strategic tips. Here are five ways you can boost
your affiliate commission checks today and start on the
path to larger commissions and affiliate marketing freedom:
1. Use Protected And User-Friendly Links
If you're promoting an affiliate program, instead of using
the link provided by the affiliate program, take a few
minutes and create a special link on your site that re-directs
your visitor and protects your affiliate link.
This benefits you in four ways:
- your affiliate link won't be chopped off because
it's too long (many email programs do this)
- visitors won't be tempted to cut off your affiliate
id, or replace it with their own to get a discount
on their purchase
- your visitor sees your domain name in the link,
promoting your business
- you can see exactly how many clicks you received
for that particular promotion by reviewing your
web site statistics
2. Review Products
For each product or service you promote write a personal
review of your experience with it. Be honest... people
will notice if you're just trying to hype the product.
You can email the review to your list, write a short
autoresponder series, as well as grab an image of the
product and display the review on your web site. Pick a
strategic location... the upper right side of any web page
gets the most 'eye' traffic.
3. Add A 'Recommended Product Guide'
Gather three to five of your favorite products... those
that you use and would recommend to friend, and create
a short 'Recommended Resource or Product Guide' along
with your affiliate links.
You can add this guide to:
- newsletter subscription thank you pages
- product purchase thank you pages
- exit pop-up windows
- special report sign up thank you pages
These pages are often empty, with just a 'thank you'
and a link to your site. Use this valuable real estate
to make recommendations. Your visitors and clients
trusted you with their purchase or newsletter sign up,
and they're more likely to trust your recommendations
right after making a purchase as well.
4. Collect Visitor Information
Instead of sending your visitors directly through the
affiliate program link, grab their name and email first.
Create a special report about the product or service
you are promoting or offer them a special newsletter
on a related topic.
If you build a list of people interested in a certain
market, you can then promote related products and
services to them in the future.
If you just send them to the affiliate site directly,
you don't get that benefit and potentially lose a
lifetime of commissions.
Here's an insider tip:
- Create a pop-up window that includes your
sign up form and opens at the same time you
send your visitor to the affiliate page.
5. Give Buyers A Special Bonus
Give your visitors a special bonus gift for ordering
through your link. It could be a special report,
consultation, free service or a special product that
you have rights to.
This creates an incentive for the visitor to make the
purchase right now, and from your link... because it's
not available anywhere else.
It makes you the only source for the combination of
product and bonus!
Make it easy... just ask them to send you their receipt
and you can forward their bonus after verifying the
purchase.
Bonus-- you get their name and email address and
with their permission, you can stay in touch with
them in the future with recommendations on similar
products or services.
