We mentioned the Rain Forest work last night - keep visiting the Perma World Site (or better yet, join - free to start) for more information. It's exciting to know that your marketing efforts help something outside your computer!

Also (far more computer oriented!) Push Button Publishing keeps on adding new, great products and tools! I can't say enough about how important I find this service in my own marketing efforts. I'm sure you all by now have heard of Mark Joyner leaving Internet Marketing? I must say I am a little skeptical, but then again his latest venture will net him $2M before he does. Bulk Traffic = Junk Traffic?

Before we get into details, yes and no.

It depends what you want to use it for. If you need qualified visitors then yes of course, its junk. If you need traffic for traffics sake (not as silly as it sounds) then no - it `aint`.

First, lets define a Hit. A Hit is a request for information delivered to your web server for your web page. Even any kind of link delivered from your page (including a banner) could trigger a Hit. A Hit is not necessarily a Visitor!

However nearly all ranking services count Hits as opposed to Visitors and there is no accurate way to determine which is which.

Content and Traffic are the lifeblood of your Web Site. You need both. Content can be created in your own time and left there - but traffic must constantly be generated. Search Engines were the traditional way, along with word of mouth and other `viral` methods. A unique site will always get traffic but sales sites do not unless they work at it.

Bulk Traffic is traffic that is re-sold from the people who generate it. Usually it's from Pop-Windows of some sort delivered from a third-party site or from the new breed of `Traffic Exchanges`. This kind of traffic is very rarely targeted and is only there for the purpose of delivering the traffic you have earned or bought. Most of the people who view it only do so in order to earn hits themselves.

It's the percentages here that are important. Because of the big numbers involved only a small percent of your hits need to be viewed.

Lets say you get 1% response from 200,000 Hits. That equates to 2000 Page Views. If say 50% of those people who viewed that site signed up to your newsletter then that's 1000 new subscribers. Something I'm sure you'd agree is a good result! A well designed sign-up page could achieve that kind of response.

Earlier I said bulk traffic isn't targeted. That's not strictly true - you are of course targeting those seeking Traffic! Traffic Exchanges are a great place to offer traffic services :-)

One last way bulk traffic can help you is with sites such as Alexa. This is a famous Ranking service that counts hits and links to your site. It's as accurate as these things can be, but a lot of bulk traffic will definitely drive you up their list. This in turn builds credibility and makes your site itself (or your advertising services) much more saleable.

In short Bulk Traffic is best used to pre-sell, or to build interest, awareness and credibility. Ensure any logos and your site name are shown prominently followed by strong headlines and benefits. Treat bulk traffic as you would any untested medium and build pages specifically for it.

Bulk Traffic IS NOT Junk Traffic. It depends how you use it!

My own ezine, TheWizWorld MRC Newsletter, focuses on the positive side of building an ebusiness. It stresses the importance of personal name branding. It also stresses that by helping others, we do help ourselves - our businesses grow, our name value grows. By displaying ones own understanding of business, it helps others build theirs - and provides them with a resource to turn to to ask for help, inquire about joint ventures, and more... you.

By putting yourself out there, with positive advice, help, products, programs, and resources, the return on your investment in time and money comes back tenfold. Word of mouth IS a priceless commodity.

So, it's a strange twist that this article isn't about any of that - though the above may have lead you to believe otherwise. Though it most definitely is about "word of mouth."

What I'd like to cover today is the person out there who believes that he or she can get away with anything, rip anyone off, not be accountable for their actions, and never get caught.

This article serves as notice to dispel that illusion.

Publishers are a huge and close knit community of hard working individuals. We talk to each other, assist each other, and sometimes find the need to warn each other of potential troublemakers, cheaters, spa*m*mers and the like.

We keep records and we pass this information along.

Just like you, publishers do not want to be the victim of anyone's sca*m. And we have long, long memories.

We also have resources at our disposal to check out certain individuals above and beyond our own lists of "ruh roh!" people. And check them we do.

I know you must receive many ezines that take the time to warn you, as an online entreprenuer, of programs and products to avoid. Typically, the publisher eithers knows from first hand experience or because an alert reader, wanting to help others, writes in and asks that publisher to share their information with you.

This is a warning with a twist - and one that is truly unfortunate to even have to mention - a warning against certain individuals.

Most of us collect IP numbers, we get names, we get email addresses, we get paypal transactions, we get credit card information. Let's face it, we get a lot of information about a lot of people.

While a publisher would never dream of selling any of this - and most have disclaimers letting you know that they would never even consider doing it - we do have the information for our own protection. And, as an Association of sorts, we share what is necessary to protect each other.

Thankfully, the world is a good place, filled with good, honest people just trying to make a living. So, other than providing a bit of entertainment for you, you know in your heart of hearts that this article isn't about you.

But, it's that 0.1% that need to listen up...

For instance...

Did you know that making false credit card claims is a Federal offense in the United States? We're talking prison time here... it's not a joke, you can and will get caught. And the rest of us are here to help ensure that you do.

>From false sp*am reports to outright credit card theft and fraud, we know who's doing what, who to avoid, who to let others know to avoid, and who to report.

So while 99.9% of us our happily and honestly building our businesses, for that 0.1%, the net is getting smaller and smaller and smaller.

If you don't know it yet, thy name is mud.

The product here is Credit File Rebuilding Services. The affiliate program is two-tier. What makes it different is the sheer amount of ways the site makes conversions.
